Have you experienced dizziness? Shortness of breath?
So today, as the afternoon drags on, I decide that I have to get out of the office before I throw my computer out of the window. Since we're on the 6th floor, and there's a healthy amount of stairs between me and freedom, I decide to go run up and down the stairs instead of taking the elevator to stretch the ol' legs and get away from my computer. No worries, right. The main secretary already left for the day, so I took the portable phone with me, which has service throughout the whole building. I begin my trek down the stairs and walk around the lobby for awhile. After staring blankly outside, I decide to go for the gold and run the stairs back to the 6th floor. Great idea huh! So I'm running, feeling the burn and I reach the 6th floor. At that precise moment, the phone decides to ring. I never even thought about that, and here I am, huffing and puffing like a 5-pack a day smoker. Great. I can't just let it ring, so I suck in a huge breath and answer, my voice sounding high and incredibly strained. Plus, I was trying to talk fast so I could get it over with. He wants to talk to one of the sales guys, so I put him on hold and let out my breath in a big whoosh of air that I'm sure would've caused a minor typhon. Sucking it in again, I ring the sales guy and tell him he has a call. That done, I lean against the railing, heart pouding, and try to catch my breath. Good call; let's see if we can completely exhaust ourselves, knowing we have to answer the phone.
Moral? Dude, I need to get back in shape.
