tunnels and parking lots
This makes me completely happy. I'm all for tunneling underneath! I love that the Chinese are offering to help. That rules. The Gambia has always intrigued me as a State. It's so...long. And, um, thin.
Unrelated news - so not much happens around here worth blogging about. I must say I miss my McStories. Life was a bit livlier back then.
I made it back to the 'ville this past weekend for a friend's birthday. Wolfe was right. Either I'm really unobservant, or the city's going nuts about tearing stuff down. It took me quite a while to notice that the section of the building between HyVee and Dollar G had been ripped out. I also completely missed the whole repaving of Walmart. I know that was during the summer, but I drove by and bam, new parking lot. I did get to go back to Walmart which I LOVE compared to the one where I live now. I love my old Walmart except for the parking lot cleaning man. He'll get you! RUN when you see him! You think he's slow, but no, you turn around and he's right behind you, gunning for you. Freaks me out.

Did you notice that the editor of that BBC article switched back and forth from calling the country "The Gambia" (correct) to just "Gambia" (not as correct).
Personally, I think the Gambianese (incorrect) do this just to mess with everyone's heads. They surely think that the "The" is the river, but it's not. Sure, I live in a country with a "The" at the beginning of the name. However, we don't have a United States River cutting straight through the midsection.
Hey, let's rename the Mississippi! (I do live near a river named only by a number. Let's rename that also.)
Oh, girl, you might want to check the settings section of the blog. Under the comments area, there is now a feature that you can turn on that makes commenters authenticate by typing a wacky series of text. This keeps the spam-bots at bay.

I did notice how they kept calling it the wrong name. I think you're right, they do it to mess with everyone. We should definitly do that here. We could rename some states...The Arkansas, The Montana...
